May 2009, MS Walk

The following year in May of 2009 we got our little team together and took on the walk again. We were still learning about MS. We had gone through two medications that didn't seem to work. Leaving Ed ill and tired all the time. We had one relapse which required a steroid treatment which was a bear to handle. But we managed to make it through and walk again. Our team raise $1185 that year. We were still small but our goal was to enjoy the day and do the best we could. We enjoyed the walk at Sherwood Island in Westport, CT. The day was bright and gave us new found hope for the following year. Now that we have found our stride, we decided to take the next step. The following year work towards a larger team. Have a presence. We had a year to prepare.

The G Team start

The G Team, Good People, Doing Good Things, started three years ago after my husband was diagnosed with MS. We decided that we were not going to sit back and watch this disease progress without doing something. from what we read about the disease and how it affects people differently. We couldn't not do something. We decided to start small and work our way up. Up to what? We don't know. Just like MS is unpredictable not knowing what will happen we decided to go with the flow. Our first year we decided to do the the walk to walk for those who can't. Since Ed was at the start of his new diagnosis, we thought that maybe one day he wouldn't be able to walk and while he still had his legs and strength we were going to move. Our team was small. Family and close friends of Ed from work. We were able to raise over $1000 that year and decided that this will be our start to bigger and better things. What the future holds for us and MS? We don't know. Not everyday can be a good day, but there is always something good in every day. It's us to up to find the good. So our journey begins.
